Prince Chinedu Munir Nwoko, born on December 21, 1960, widely recognized as Ned Nwoko, is a Nigerian lawyer, philanthropist, and politician. He held the position of a member of the House of Representatives from 1999 to 2003, representing the Aniocha\/Oshimili Federal Constituency in Delta State. In January 2020, he embarked on a symbolic expedition to Antarctica to launch a Malaria Eradication Project. In the 2023 senatorial election, he emerged victorious in Delta State, representing the Delta North District under the People’s Democratic Party (PDP). Sen. Ned Nwoko hails from the Nwoko Royal Family in Idumuje Ugboko Kingdom, Aniocha North Local Government Area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
His educational background includes primary and secondary education in Nigeria, followed by studies in the United Kingdom. He obtained his first degree in Law and History from the University of Keele, Staffordshire, and pursued an LLM in maritime and commercial law at King’s College London. Subsequently, he was called to the English bar at Lincoln’s Inn. Commonwealth University College, Belize, North America, bestowed upon him an Honorary Doctorate degree in Letters (D.Litt).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A staunch advocate for Malaria eradication in Africa, Ned Nwoko initiated the Ned Nwoko Malaria Eradication Project, launching the campaign through a symbolic expedition to Antarctica in January 2020. The project supports existing efforts in vaccine development by funding research for an anti-malaria vaccine in collaboration with leading African universities and research establishments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Ned Nwoko played a pivotal role in the initiation of the London and Paris Club Loans refund to Nigeria. His law firm, Ned Nwoko Solicitors, and his company, Linas International, investigated multinational creditors, revealing discrepancies in loan repayments. This led to the refund of the first tranches of loans, starting from the Obasanjo administration. Under the Buhari Administration, Nigeria overcame economic recession, enabling the payment of backlog salaries and infrastructure development. His efforts resulted in the refund of $20 billion to States and Local Government.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
