{"id":1844,"date":"2024-03-26T22:15:22","date_gmt":"2024-03-26T22:15:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/fctnewsonline.com\/?p=1844"},"modified":"2024-03-27T09:10:28","modified_gmt":"2024-03-27T09:10:28","slug":"group-asks-nass-to-grant-fct-minister-govship-status","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/fctnewsonline.com\/?p=1844","title":{"rendered":"NASS Was Asked To Grant FCT Minister With Gov\u2019ship Status"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Cabul Network, a developmental group, has urged the National Assembly to grant the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) the status of a state governor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Spokesman of the group and a former Commissioner for the Environment in Akwa Ibom State, Dr. John Harry, made the call at a news conference in Abuja.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It would be recalled that the Minister of the FCT, Nyesom Wike, while appearing before the House of Representatives Committee on FCT, had demanded for such status.Wike, while defending a N1.1 trillion 2024 budget proposal, asked the lawmakers to grant him the power to spend funds under the \u201csecurity vote\u201d scheme.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to Harry, I totally agree with Wike over the request to have the privilege of what the governors have in their states to spend security votes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Now, let us refer to the last general elections and the submission that came out of the Supreme Court.
