Work or risk to be sacked, Wike cautions on the new Perm Secs

The recently appointed permanent secretaries of the FCT Administration, have been warned by Minister Nyesom Wike that they must perform or else they will be fired.

Following the inauguration of the FCT head of service, the commissioners and chairman of the FCT Civil Service Commission, and the permanent secretaries in Abuja on Monday, Mr. Wike issued the warning.

“You understand that, as a permanent secretary, you are not a political appointee, and if you fail to meet our standards, you can question him in compliance with civil service regulations.

Mr. Wike added, “I don’t want to hear that files are unduly delayed. We want you to support the government of President Bola Tinubu to realize the Renewed Hope Agenda.”

The minister reminded workers of the long struggle for the realization of the FCT Civil Service Commission since the enactment of the law in 2018.
